Review left on Tripadvisor - Good location for walks, easy or difficult. Stayed in Winhill Cottage, faultless. Everything one needed was there and more. Cannot recommend enough. Then there is the Cheshire Cheese Pub within walking distance

This was our first visit to the north of the Peak District and what a delight it has been. The cottage is one of the best of the dozen or so we've stayed in, we've met lots of friendly people and the scenery is superb, especially today with all the snow. We had excellent food at the Cheshire Cheese, the Yorkshire Bridge and at The Blue Apple; and nice cups of tea at Coopers Café in Edale and the Community Café in Bamford. But let nothing detract from The Old Dairy Cottage - it's a delight.

Overall one of the best organised holiday lets we've stayed in. Lots of recent / up to date information provided regarding places to visit and a large file of walks in the area (with spare photocopies that could be taken with us). Very warm and clean. Highly recommended.

Review left on Tripadvisor - “Great Holiday Cottage” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2013 Just stayed at Losehill cottage, Oaker Farm for a week. The cottage was very cosy, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The location is idyllic with walks from the front door or a short distance away. The farm itself is surrounded by stunning views and cute lambs at this time of year. The village of Hope is about a mile or so away with a few shops, pubs and cafes. Plenty to do in the area, Castleton with it's caverns is also close by. Didn't have time to do everything we wanted so hope to go back next year.

Review left on Tripadvisor - "Four have fun in the Peak District” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2013 We have stayed in a few holiday cottages over the years and Lose Hill Cottage is outstanding. We were made to feel welcome from the outset - great hosts, very friendly and relaxed, but clearly totally dedicated to providing a first class service for their guests. The cottage has everything we needed and more - tea tray with biscuits to welcome us as we walked in, immaculate décor, big HD TV (not that we watched it much), spotless kitchen and bathroom, comfortable beds with high quality linen, fluffy towels, everything in perfect condition and working, and fantastic views from all the windows. There are several local pubs which do excellent food and are child friendly - the closest exactly a mile away so walkable (The Cheshire Cheese). The Bull's Head in Castleton is also great. There is a small supermarket just down the road, various take-aways and a farm shop. So many things to do - we only got half way through our list in a week. The local walks from the farm are amazing for starters, with loads more within a few minutes drive; caves and mines to visit on rainy days, rocks to climb, lovely villages with interesting shops, forests, reservoirs, stately homes, ruins and stone circles - and not forgetting Alton Towers about an hour's drive away. Had a fantastic week, we all loved it and definitely on our "must go back to" list! Thank you so much Julie & Stephen

This is far the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. Those extra special touches make it complete. Many thanks.

We keep on coming back, 10 years now. You could say home from home. Scenery breathtaking. Comfort you can't beat.

The Hadfield family have made our mother-daughter getaway a truly wonderful and memorable experience. We have enjoyed our week and hope to return. Thank you for everything.
